If you're not aware of the Macc Lads and their reputation in the UK we highly recommend you look them up.
These guys were the rudest, crudest and darn right drunkest band to come out of the north of England and if their packed out show at Sheffield Academy is anything to go by, they might still be!
Our head engineer and director Sam was brought in by Tech manager Paul Glave to mix monitors for the Macc lads and their support.
Having been a fan of the bands music thanks to a biker friend; Sam was looking forward to this show, and not just because of the Martin Audio LE1500 wedges that make up the venues monitor package.
The venue it's self has what can only be described as a behemoth of a PA system; featuring 9 boxes per side of Next line array with 12 duel 18" subs! this thing has enough bass to wipe out a small army.
As with any Macc Lads show their comedic lyrics and masterful punk sounds encourage the crowd to launch as much beer as possible at the stage (They even have a scoreboard for each city they visit). With a great amount of foresight however all of the gear was successfully covered up and survived without a single drop getting in the places it shouldn't..... Sam however didn't quite make it out so dry and whilst repositioning a mic mid show had the best part of a pint soak his trousers. (Better luck next time Sam!)
It was a pleasure to work with the band and hopefully DD Music Group and Sam will be seeing them again very soon!
The music of The Clash is arguably some of the most influential in Brittish punk and rock history; London Calling are a 5 piece band dedicated to keeping the music of The Clash alive in a raucous and energetic tribute to the band that white their namesake.
Our engineer and director Sam was brought in by the Academy Music Group to run the sound for this packed out show at the Arts Club in Liverpool.
The brand new FOH console at the venue is the powerful Allen & Heath D-Live C1500; freshly installed in September 2019 with a DM48 mix rack on stage this has contributed to a significant upgrade in the venues tech offering.
PA consists of two hangs of Turbosound line array which tech manager Matt Dutton and assistant Matt Howard have done a great job of tuning and realigning during the recent upgrade works.
A great venue in a great city; we always look forward to visiting this place!
A brand new type of festival came to Chester in the form of Deva Fest; with full production proudly provided by DD Music Group.
Called "Deva Fest" after the Roman name for Chester (Deva), this brand new family festival set out to be different from the start. With value in mind the organisers had gone to town with nothing left on the table to give festival goers an incredible weekend.
With three days of incredible music, a free fairground and a plethora of activities around the site including roman gladiators fighting, fire dancing, carnival parades and more... There was something for everyone. The festival even had a free bus service to get back and forth to Chester railway station!
Headline artists included; "I love it when you call" rockers The Feeling, Big band Jazz extraordinaire Zoot Series, and the world renowned Symphonic Ibiza live orchestra.
We had a blast providing our complete production services to this extremely successful event; working with our brand partners we provided an impressive 10m stage to fill the giant big top as well as full lighting and audio production.
This festival saw the debut of our brand new festival comms system with our on site network which has three independent forms of communication; Text based comms, Hard wired shout system and a custom scripted Q-Lab cue light system. The systems worked perfectly and all three in tandem provided a great way of communicating in different situations.

This Sunday 12th May we're proud to be working with the team behind Staffordshire's biggest fighting event (Bad II the Bone) to provide the event equipment and audio production for a unique Jr boxing event.
Set to tackle knife crime in Staffordshire the event held at Kings Hall in Stoke on Trent is going to be a great opportunity for young fighters to channel their energies into sport.
The aim of the event is to raise the profile of the local boxing clubs in the Stoke on Trent area, helping to keep youngsters off the streets and away from violent crime.
We will be deploying 6 of our RCF HDL20a boxes along with two horn loaded subs to cover this beautiful venue.
DD Music Group are proud to have become an official supplier to global brand PepsiCo and Lipton.
Having most recently supplied the audio production for the Pepsi-Lipton Global conference and awards evening in Windsor.
We all enjoyed working with the lovely Sam & his company DD Music Group recently. Great company. I would highly recommend using them as they were very professional, everything ran very smoothly and we would have no hesitation in using their services again. - Sasha Newell [PepsiCo International Ltd] -
The event was held at the beaumont estate in their 19th Century Chapel.
"The reverb time in the hall was more than 8 seconds, proving to be somewhat of a challenge. To overcome this we deployed a distributed system around the room using our brand new Brooke 2115x loudspeakers giving more localised full range audio to each area.
A second challenge came from the fact that the room was given two stages, one for the awards to take place in the centre of the room, and the other for the rock band to play from at the end of the chapel. This meant changing the delay times of the whole system throughout the different portions of the evening to localise the audio to each stage as and when needed.
This was a fun extra challenge and one that worked perfectly" - Sam Stoddard (Director)
Thanks to Skyfire events and Global conference management for their excellent organisation and thanks again to Pepsi-Lipton for having DD Music Group as an official supplier. We look forward to working together on future events.
