A very Jedward xmas

When it comes to guilty pleasures; Jedward might be one of the most talked about in the UK: Their big hair do's and crazy antics have made them a household name up and down the country, and we are not surprised if Kirkby Christmas light switch on is anything to go by! 

Representing their homeland of Ireland twice in the Eurovision song contest, appearing as giant babies in celebrity big brother and even getting their own show on MTV there is no denying that Jedward are pure entertainment - Their show in Kirkby was no exception either; we saw John (or Edward?) crowd surfing, Edward (or John?) climbing the rigging all whilst the pair were dressed in the most sparkly sequinned outfits, complete with matching high heeled boots.

Director Sam even shared a cheeky Christmas kiss with Jedward's mother back stage whilst mixing the show! (See photo)

Although Jedward well and truly owned their headline slot; the other acts on the bill also put in great performances, including N-Trance belting out their classic hit "Set you free" with chorus from the thousand strong audience filling the concert square.

We would also like to say huge congrats to the events organiser and town centre manager Mr Mike Matthews; as not only did he and the team put this great event together, but the same night he also won the well deserved "Employee of the year" award from the Knowsley business awards 2017.

We look forward to seeing the finished remodelling of Kirkby town centre as we have been promised that events have been kept in mind in the design to help make them even bigger and better in the years to come.
